Ruby S. Malhotra   

Er. Ruby S. Malhotra is an Electronics Engineer and MBA in Marketing, and a first-generation Woman Tech Entrepreneur. She is the Executive Director and Quality In-charge of Kailtech Test & Research Centre Pvt. Ltd., a leading multidisciplinary Engineering Testing and Calibration Laboratory based in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Ruby completed her Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics from Government Engineering College, Bhopal, in 1992, followed by an MBA in Marketing from Bharati Vidyapeeth’s Institute of Management and Research, Delhi, in 1994. She began her professional career with Sterlite Industries Ltd. as a Management Trainee and later worked with Gajra Bevel Gears Ltd. as an Assistant Manager, where she was the only woman manager among nearly 80 managers. In 2000, she made the transition from employment to entrepreneurship and joined the family business. Driven by a vision to establish a high-quality Engineering Testing Laboratory in Central India, she founded Kailtech Engineers in 2001 with just two employees. Her vision materialised into Kailtech Test & Research Centre Pvt. Ltd., established in 2007 in Electronic Complex Industrial Area, Indore. Over the years, Ruby has played a key role in building Kailtech into a recognised national brand. The organisation achieved ISO 9001 certification in 2007, NABL accreditation as per ISO/IEC 17025 in 2010, CRISIL SE-2B rating in 2011 and BIS recognition in 2012, followed by recognition from the Telecommunication Engineering Centre, Government of India. Today, Kailtech offers multidisciplinary testing and calibration services across Mechanical, Chemical, Electronics, Electrical and NDT testing, along with Mechanical, Thermal and Electro-technical calibration disciplines. The organisation also provides specialised services including Geotechnical, Highway & Building Materials, Plastics, Validations & Mappings and Pollution-related testing. Kailtech serves clients across India and has customers with business relationships extending to the US, Europe, China and Taiwan. The Kailtech brand was registered as a trademark in 2015, and the organisation operates branches in Bina and Bhopal, providing direct employment to more than 100 people. Ruby is actively associated with professional and industry organisations including FICCI-FLO, Association of Indian Laboratories, Association of Industries of Madhya Pradesh, MP Small Scale Industries Organization, Association of Electronic Industries, Women Industrial Association and Rotary International. Her contributions have been recognised through several awards, including Star Alumni recognition from BVIMR, Quality Mark Award for Research & Development, COWE India Award, Outstanding Woman Entrepreneur Award and Woman in Business Award. Beyond business, Ruby is committed to giving back to society. She has served as an advisor to IIT Indore and IPS Academy, mentors budding entrepreneurs through the National Entrepreneurship Network, and has contributed to IEEE Madhya Pradesh. She is a regular speaker on quality and entrepreneurship and has been associated with Rotary International since 2008, serving as Club President and Assistant Governor.She is State STEM Chair for FICCI-FLO. With a strong focus on quality, entrepreneurship, women’s participation in STEM and social impact, Ruby continues to work towards taking Kailtech onto the international map while inspiring the next generation of entrepreneurs.
