Dr.S.Sumathi   

Dr. S. Sumathi received her B. E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Bharathiyar University in Coimbatore in 1994 and her M.E. in Applied Electronics from Anna University in Chennai in 2004 and. In 2009, received Doctorate from Anna University with a focus on VLSI signal processing. With more than 25 years of research and teaching experience, she has held faculty positions at esteemed engineering colleges, such as Kuppam Engineering College and Government College of Engineering in Bargur. Currently, working as Professor and Head and responsible for 780 students. She has been acknowledged by Anna University, Chennai as a research supervisor, having guided 12 Ph.D. theses, with 8 still in progress.
In recognition of her exceptional academic achievements and research contributions, she was honored with the Bharat Jyothi Award by the India International Friendship Society. 06 of her inventions have been awarded patent grants, and 19 patents have been published. She has completed AICTE sponsored research project entitled “Application of Sparse Representations in Hyperspectral Images for the Development of Real Time Geo-Archival Processing System Using Reconfigurable Hardware”, sponsored AICTE, New Delhi and 2 more projects are applied for funds.

Dr. Sumathi authored 04 books entitled “IoT and Cloud Synergy: Transforming Connectivity and Computing”, “ARM System Architecture and Applications”, “Principles of VLSI Design”, “Design and implementation of low power and high-performance filter” which was published by a renowned publishing house. 33 Scopus indexing papers, 22 in Web of Science/SCI journals, 31 in UGC publications, 5 in UGC care listed group-1 journal, 64 in peer-reviewed journals and 44 in conference proceedings. Since 2012, she has served as the Chairman of the Board of Studies in the Faculty of Electronics and Communication Engineering.
The Department of ECE, under her guidance, received NBA accreditation in the spans of 2004-2017 and 2024-2027. She has also been appointed to various influential bodies, including the Research Council and the Academic Council. She has been instrumental in guiding over 50 B.E. projects and 30+ M.E. theses. In addition, she procures consultancy projects from both corporate and governmental entities. She has critically assessed numerous articles for esteemed domestic and international journals. She has delivered nearly twenty keynote speeches at diverse conferences and workshops.
